About
She perceives creation as a “leela”- cosmic or divine play, which is realised in the form of abstract spiritual/psychological scapes or maps. Living in London, away from her home- India, has deepened her curiosity towards the philosophies and mysteries of the land of “enlightenment”.
Her research focuses on the dualities of life, like suffering and bliss, right or wrong, and and how being centred is a journey towards freedom. Through art, she is interested in creating a sacred experience rather than treating it as a mere object. Following a process-led approach, she attempts to encapsulate sensations which simply do not make sense, and experiences that are far bigger than us- the numinous. Her practice is deeply informed by her guru, Prabhat Agarwal, Eastern philosophical traditions like the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and artists like Hilma af Klint.
Ultimately, the journey towards the final image remains the most essential aspect of her practice. In this way, creation becomes a love letter to the universe.
